By camping in Disney World Campground, you can save money while visiting Disney. Disney World Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground is one of the most sought after campgrounds. Disney World Fort Wilderness is a 700 acre cypress and pine forest. It is situated between the Magic Kingdom and Epcot. This Disney Resort offers the best outdoor setting as well as one bedroom cabins for those who prefer them. There are 784 campsites and the lengths range from 25’ to 65’ to put up tents, tent trailers and vehicles. For those who prefer indoor comforts, there are Wilderness Cabins. These warm and self-supporting cabins remind you of the old pioneer log homes.
This campsite has a lot of wildlife also. You’ll find armadillos, rabbits, ducks, deer, geese and peacocks roaming in the vicinity. The Settlement Recreation Area is located close to the Bay Lake and includes the marina and the beach. The Settlement Trading Post sells groceries, sundries, snacks and beverages. Swimming, tennis and volleyball are available at the Meadows Recreation Complex. Some of the sites are open to pets, at an additional cost of $3 per site, not per pet. The 408 Wilderness Cabins provide 504 square feet area, adequate for six people after you pull down the Murphy beds and they also have kitchens. Disney World Fort Wilderness is close to Magic Kingdom.

You can visit Mickey Mouse and save money by camping. You could stay in Disney World Campground and make a trip to Disney World. The first camping site that you can think of is Disney’s own Fort Wilderness Campground. It is very close to the theme parks and as a guest you get free transportation to any of the Disney Parks. Fort Wilderness is well maintained and the disadvantage is that on holidays and during weekends you’ll pay as equal amount of money for the campsite as you would for an economic Orlando or Kissimmee hotel.
You can also consider the nearby Disney World Campground like Tropical Palms Resort which is 3 miles away, the Orange Grove Campground located about 5 miles nod Great Oak camping and RV Resort which is located 6 miles away. These sites have or are near amenities. One of the reasons for staying at Fort Wilderness Campground is that you can save money on trips to Walt Disney World. Food is available at two posts on the campground. Otherwise you can go to Goodings Supermarket at the Crossroads or one of the Publix Supermarket near Disney World. Disney World Campground can be a real money saver if used properly.
